Swollen submandibular and enlarged tonsil.

Hi all.

I've recently been referred to the 2 ww cancer pathway for quite a large lump on my neck and a very big tonsil. Both left side. I've had a nasoendoscopy which showed the very enlarged left side tonsil but the specialist I saw at the ENT department has referred me for an MRI for my swollen glands.

He had said that my tonsil and inside my throat looks normal, nothing abnormal but now I'm worrying about this gland. This came on all of a sudden after what I thought was glandular fever, also getting other symptoms such as difficulty swallowing and hoarseness of voice and sometimes a very bad ear ache!! I've also been getting sores on my youngest and on the inside of my lip which I've never had before :-/ coincidence or not...

I've got my MRI with contrast tomorrow. If it was to be sinister would they tell me there and then ?

I did the one thing your not meant to do and Google my symptoms!! Wish I bloody hadn't now

I'm also 34, a light smoker and drinker. Oh and suffer with anxiety!

Anyone else been in this situation!!

Please reach out.

Many thanks.
