I had to go for a colonoscopy after some symptoms and a positive fit poop test. I followed the diet for 7 days before did all the correct prep.The Laxative drinks (PLENVU) i found difficult to take and found myself attached to the toilet for 4 hours from half way through drinking the first lot. I had a bad head and stomach cramps. I got to the hospital was really anxious(i suffer badly with anxiety) was asked of the first person i saw what exactley i was anxious about, which did not help i also reminded her i suffer with diverticulitis she inserted my cannula then rhey took me in for the procedure. I had asked for sedation. As they put the first injection in cannula it squirted all over me and everywhere (canula wasnt in properly) i overheard one of them say she wasnt happy with it when she did it. Then 3 off them proceded to look for veins to put another cannula in which was upsetting. Eventually it was done given fentanyl procedure began then was  not sure how far they got. I have never felt pain like it in my life (i rhought kidney stones where bad) given entonox tried with this but procedure had to be abandoned. Not sure if i was given sedation as requested and wasnt given buscapan either. After recovery on discharge was given apointment and prep for bowel CT later that day. I came bk for the CT later on same day the girls who did this were amazing managed to handle me having a panic attack and get this procedure done. I have since found out from C T scan i have a polyp which needs removing i am absolutley terrified about going through this again.
