Hi Callum, sometimes lesions on the liver can be benign. I had a 10cm x 6cm one found on my liver 2 years ago.  The doctors could not tell from the scans whether it was benign or malignant, so they removed it anyway.  After testing it was found to be benign, so don't lose hope!
