Positive fit result 270ug plus feacal calprotectin 245ug

Have had both these test results back after experiencing the worst spasam ever, bloated like I wasn8months pregnant like ibs grips that went up to under my ribs, pain left in stomach which was sore. 111 called ambulance. Hospital ordered bloods, doctors ordered stool samples to send off and another full blood count to compare again Hospital blood tests all happened quickly, impressed with the speed and now

I have a colonoscopy book in next week.

Ive had ibs on and of for years. Sometimes really bad in times of stress and if I eat alot of soft cheese n crackers for a few days, so kept away from cheese cream yogurt only skimmed milk. This massive spasam happened after have stress. I have chronic general anxiety disorder. My red blood count isn't right very vit k12, low hemoglobin, slightly anemia, liver has raised markers

Its all happening quickly my doctor said the fit test of 270ug was postive and dosent suspect cancer.  I tend to wait till the procedure before feeling concerned, although has the bowel prep to contend with.

I guess I could do with asking peoples option who have gone thro the same thing, and how the coped. Any good drinks that could help get rid the the taste may fuzzy 7up lemonade?

Any advice you could give me with be of interest.

Please excuse my dyslexia alto correction has its on namesit likes to use.

Thanks Josy

  • Hello josy

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health issues and that now you're waiting for a colonoscopy to see if a cause can be found for the symptoms that you've described. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things.

It's good to know that you've already seen your GP and that they don't suspect cancer at this point. Hopefully the specialists wlil be able to give you some reassurance when you see them later in the week for your procedure.

Hopefully some of the members here who have had colonoscopies will reply to share their experiences with you soon but in the meantime, if it would help to chat things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

Keep in touch and let us know how you get on later this week josy. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
