Just wanted to share my experience and hopefully may be helpful.   It all started about a year ago, I noticed blood when i had been to the toilet. This continued for many months. Eventually this February after I saw a substantial amount of blood i told my husband.  The next day he made me go to the doctors.  I had 2 FIT tests which were both positive. I think 200.   I was referred under 2 week pathway for suspected cancer referal.   I was very worried in seeing these words.   I was prescribed Plenvu prep before my procedure, which I found disgusting and was sick everywhere so it had to be cancelled.   It was re arranged and given Moviprep which was so much better taste wise- like a lemon flavour.    I found the procedure very painful and had to be aborted half way through as I was in so much pain.  They did discover a recral polyp approx 5cm in size. I had to repeat the colonoscopy a few weeks later to complete it. I was given double painkiller and I managed to complete it. I opted for sedation both times.  Both times targeted biopsies were taken and had to wait several weeks for the results which came back benign.   I was also booked in for an MRI scan ro check if the polyp had invaded any surrounding tissue (Which it had nt)  As the polyp was so large it had to be removed by TEMS. A procedure done under general anaesthetic.  Again the whole polyp that had been removed was sent off as previous biopsies had only been taken from the surface. I recovered slowly over a matter of weeks.  Today I had an appointment with the consultant who gave me the good news it was benign.   I hope this gives some hope and reassurance to anyone going through anything similar.  I urge anyone who has unexplained bleeding get it checked out ASAP. Do not leave it for months and months like I did.  It may not be as bad as you think.    It has been a long stressful journey since my initial visit ro the doctors but now I can on with my life and I am so glad my husband dragged me to the doctors when he did.
