Waiting for appointment after 2cm lesion found on cervix. Has anyone had this and had good news?

Hi hoping someone’s been in the same position and had some good news. Been spotting for a month and then no bleeding for 2/3 months then spotting for a month again. Bleeding after sex. Not much pain though. This has been going on for over a year. Any appointment doctors have told me it’s just the pill (Cerelle) had my cervix checked in October last year all looked fine. Went yesterday as I’ve had enough of the bleeding and just know it’s coming directly from my cervix. Doctors checked it and said there is a 2cm lesion on my cervix. In her notes she described it as ulcer looking with a red/brown centre. Has done me the 2 week cancer referral and I’m now waiting on an appointment. Has anyone had this and had good news? I went in thinking I had an ectropion which I’ve had before and come out thinking it’s the worst. Had CIN2 back in 2018 but all clear smears ever since.

  • Hello Anxious25 and welcome to the Cancer Chat forum.

I'm sorry to hear about the symptoms you've been contending with over the past year and that a small lesion has been found on your cervix.

I know this must be stressful but I hope this information we have about the 2 week referral will help to ease your mind whilst you wait.

If you'd like to discuss any of this further with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to answer your questions.

Hopefully some of our members will share their experiences and advice with you soon but in the meantime, we're wishing you all the best with your appointment and hope the lesion isn't any cause for concern.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
