Hi im 38 years old and had a ultrasound 12th july due to irregular periods and questionable pcos I was told i would get the results in 7 days. My gp phoned me the next day less than 24 hours later to say she received the report and they found a 6cm mass large heterogeneous/mixed echo poorly delineated mass
arising within the left adnexa peripheral vascularity noted, left ovary is not
identified separately
She said we need to put you on thrle urgent referral for gynecological cancer. I had my 1st gyne consultant appointment a few days after and they discussed the findings and wanted to book me in for a mri and do ca125 bloods. I did the ca125 bloods that day and on the 23rd july i had my mri. I phoned up last Tuesday 28th july and they said my case was refered to the multidisciplinary team that day but missed the cut off for that weeks meeting and my case will be heard this week.
Iv been going out my mind with worry as we have a family history of ovarian cancer and breast. My symptoms have been fatigue lower backache diminished appetite irregular periods only had 1 this year but get symptoms of it trying to Happen frequent urination and feeling like iv not emptied my bladder nausea that comes on quickly but no vomiting and a heavy dull ache in pelvis and left side.
After speaking to a few people a few in the nhs I was told that if it was a typical dermoid cyst or chocolate cyst it wouldn't need multidisciplinary team input. Has anyone gone through the same and can give me advise. Also I beleive the multidisciplinary teams meeting this week is either Tuesday 4th August or Wednesday 5th August. After the meeting when will I hear from them for a follow up meeting? Thank you in advance
