GP visit - worried about symptoms since my last renal transplant check up

Hello everyone , would like some advice please .

In the last 3 months since my last transplant ( renal) clinic check up , I have shed approx 4kgs in unplanned weight loss.

I have to clear my throat often and my voice sometimes changes while talking . I also have a light cough and hiccup daily.

Really conceren that my acid reflux has turned serious .

I hadnt given it much thought until my trousers and jean belt went down a notch and weighed myself at work .

Becoming more concerned as this day progresses as it's all pointing to a more sinister diagnosis

Than you very much for any advice

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat GannochyBoy although I'm sorry to hear about the symptoms you've been experiencing since your last check up at the transplant clinic.

I'm not sure from your post when your next check up is but if you have a contact number for the clinic, maybe you could give them a call to explain what's happened and find out if they could see you sooner so you can get this checked out. If that's not possible, you could try booking an appointment with your GP instead.

I hope some of our members will offer their thoughts and advice to you soon but if it would help, you can also talk things through with one of our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very knowledgeable and will do all they can to address your questions and concerns.

We're sending you all our support GannochyBoy and hope these symptoms are not a sign of anything more sinister.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
