Dense breast tissue after termination

Hiya, today after noticing a slight change in my right breast, I had a GP appointment to check for anything sinister and I have been put on the breast cancer referral, which has left me feeling really worried.

back in february i took the emergency contraception, which led to me having a termination at around 6-8 weeks. while pregnant, my breast were super swollen and felt firm and tender and after my termination, the pain subsided as did the swelling. however, since my right breast never returned to normal. a month ago (it could have been longer but i have adhd so am very forgetful) i noticed just above my nipple, my breast tissue felt more obvious and firmer/denser. this breast has always been slightly larger, but it is a lot fuller than my left one. so i decided to wait out my full cycle to see if it changed, if not to get it checked. however, it has remained the same (hence getting it checked today).

i don’t have any pain, nor do i have any of the symptoms they say to look out for when checking for breast cancer. now while the right side definitely feels more obvious, the tissue on the left does match the right but the right side feels a little bigger? in terms of how my breasts look, my left one looks flatter whereas my right one looks fuller.

the gp did a breast examination and these are her notes:

“on examination, the right breast appears slightly larger than the left. There is an area of increased firmness/fibrous tissue on the outer quadrant of right breast compared to the left side. I am unable to confidently identify a palpable lump, but the asymmetrical firmness is clinically apparent. No overlying skin changes, nipple changes or discharge”

i wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar? if so, what did it end up being? could it be early signs or cancer or could it be linked to the pregnancy? i originally thought that perhaps it may be something to do with a blocked duct but i’m not sure if this is even possible with how early along i was!

i am a chronic worrier and hearing the word “cancer” has definitely panicked me a little!
