Hi,

6 weeks ago I got extreme pain in my tongue, and I thought I could see something weird on my tongue. Went to dentist and she saw nothing. The pain got worse and I then noticed a significant swelling on my left side of tongue. I went to GP who could see it but felt it didn’t look malignant, gave me mouthwash for the pain. The pain went away but the swelling is now huge. I went to dentist on Monday and she said she doesn’t think it’s malignant- maybe from where I grind my teeth at night? She did me a 2ww referral anyway. 
I’ve heard nothing (it was 2 days ago). Should I have heard about an appt by now? I’ve now got an awful sore throat. Maybe just anxiety?

Im a single parent of a 1 yr old (and a 16 year old), whose dad is not the most capable. I have no family. I have no ‘village’. I need the money from work to live. I’m terrified.

Ive booked an appt with a private surgeon on Saturday if I don’t hear from NHS before- but if ut is bad- I won’t be able to afford private so I don’t know what would happen then.

just scared.
