Am I worrying too much?

I’m a 30 year old female who is a massive over thinker!

A few months ago I found a lump in the upper outer region of my right breast, I didn’t think anything of it if I’m honest but at my doctors appointment last week I mentioned it and she referred me to the breast clinic, which I have now on the 28th July. This particular lump is hard not painful but feels smooth so I don’t think it’s going to be Cancer however this morning I did find another lump on the same breast, under my boob pretty much where my bra line is. It isn’t painful and it is hard but this one does have irregular sides but I’m not sure if this is just because of where it’s located.

I don’t think I have any other normal side effects, but I have felt more tired over the last few months, and I feel almost a tightness in my right armpit instead of your normal swollen lymph node. And my right neck lymph node is very tender.

im hoping these are all individual issues and not related to Cancer in anyway but I am over thinking it and googling everything! Any one else had similar side effects or able to relate to my issue?

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat forum RhiannonStar although I'm sorry to hear about the breast lumps you've found.

Overthinking in situations like these is only natural but if you can, try to resist the urge of googling everything as the information on there is very generalised and will only make your worries worse. I hope this guide we have on how to cope with waiting for news will help to ease your mind instead.

Hopefully some of our members who have been through this will offer their support and advice to you soon but if it would help to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5 p.m. With their knowledge and insight they will do all they can to answer your questions and help you prepare for your appointment.

You can also find out what happens at a breast clinic appointment on this handy page on the Breast Cancer Now website but in the meantime, we're sending you all our support and wishing you all the best for the 28th.

If you're feeling up to it, do let us know how you get on. We'll be thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed for good news.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
