Womb thickening and cysts

Hello everyone to say I am petrified is an understatement. Iv been under gynaecology last year had a hysterscopy didn't see anything. Less then a year passes just had a ultrasound scan 2 days ago shows I have a 24mm womb lining thickness both ovaries looking bulky and full of multiple cysts and also a large one on.

I haven't slept I can't help but think the worst

Iv had for years now heavy periods the clots I lose are like 50p coins sometimes have 2 periods a month ,made me anemic for a very long time now just got thrown iron tablets at me .

Lower back pain iv complained about cramping but seems to been dismissed .The only reason I got this scan few days ago as I wanted to start clomid again to try for a baby I have a beautiful 10 year old from 2 rounds of IVF and thought I'm 38 this year nothing has happened should I try again woth clomid. So I got my scan because of this or I would be walking around with these problems and no diagnosis. I'm awaiting on a Urgent gynaecology referral as scan suggested abnormalities. I can't sleep I can't think I'm struggling .It's the waiting game that makes it worse and just need advice or if anyone gone through same thing I feel lost and beside myself

  • Hello Rosiedogs88

I'm sorry to hear that a recent pelvic scan has raised some concerns about thickening in your womb and ovarian cysts. It's understandable, given everything that you've been through, that you're feeling concerned about what may have caused these issues.

We have some tips and advice about waiting for news that may be of help, but in the meantime, I wonder if you might also find it useful to chat things through with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, support and information they can. If you'd like to talk with them, they're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.
