It sounds like the dermatologist is not too worried and thinks it is a benign mole under your thumbnail which is reassuring but it's good that they are being thorough and that you have had a biopsy to determine for sure that it is nothing of concern. 

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have been through this before. Biopsy results usually take about 2 weeks to come through but if you see you are waiting for longer than a couple of weeks it might be worth getting in touch with your doctor and trying to get an update. I know it's really hard but try not to worry too much and if you feel that you are finding it really hard to deal with the long wait for results, have a read of our useful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news. 

Keeping everything crossed - fingers and toes! - that you get confirmation soon that it is nothing to worry about as the specialist suspects.
