Enlarged Abnormal Lymphnode and worried

I had a CT scan on my sinuses at the end of May, sinuses were fine but the scan picked up and enlarged lymphnode on the right side of neck. Doctor referred me for an ultrasound which I had a couple of weeks ago. The ultrasound found a lymphnode measuring 1.3cm x 2.5cm. The report says it has loss of normal architecture and no fatty hilum was visible. I’m terrified for what this means and I’m not clear what the next steps are. Doctor did a 2 week referral to ENT a week  ago but I still haven’t heard anything.
I guess I’m looking for other people’s experience with this whether it turned out to be cancer or not.

  • I'm sorry to hear about the lymph node that was found during your ultrasound Rebeckii20.

Having seen the report and not knowing what the findings mean must be very scary, but hopefully your ENT appointment will come through soon and you'll be a step closer to getting some much needed answers and peace of mind.

I hope some of our members will stop by soon to share their experiences and advice but if it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They will do all they can to answer your questions and support you during this uncertain and anxious time.

Do let us know how things go Rebeckii20. We'll be thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed that this lymph node is no cause for concern.
