Is it normal to see an oncologist for complex cyst?

Hi everyone,

After a routine ultrasound scan I have been diagnosed with a 9cm complex cyst.
I first had a call from a specialist nurse who arranged for me to have blood tests, mri and ct scan. My ca-125 came back elevated at 240 and my mdt meeting has said they are unsure what the cyst/mass is, just that it could be cancerous.
I now have a meeting next Wednesday with an gynaecologist oncologist and absolutely worried sick I have cancer.

has anyone else been through this before?

  • I'm sorry to hear about the complex cyst that was found during your ultrasound mvl2006, and that you've been told it could be cancerous.

I know this must be very worrying but hopefully the meeting you're due to have with the gynaecologist oncologist next week will be able to give you some much needed answers and peace of mind.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will share their experiences and advice with you soon but if you'd like to ask one of our nurses about this you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040. The helpline is open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and our nurses will do all they can to address your questions and concerns.

We're sending you all our support mvl2006 and wishing you all the best for Wednesday.

    Kind regards,
