Now on waiting list for colposcopy.

  • Hello Gillb7189

I'm sorry to hear that you've had repeated HPV+ cervical screening results and that you're now waiting for a colposcopy. It's understandable that you have some questions and concerns about what happens next.

We have information about the colposcopy procedure on our website that may be helpful to you. While some women report finding the procedure uncomfortable, many women don't experience any issues. Do talk through any concerns you have with the team on the day of your appointment, and I'm sure they will be able to give you some reassurance.

In terms of getting your results, the team may be able to give you some information about what they see during the examination. However, if biopsies are taken, then the samples will need to go to the lab to be examined before the results are available. Ask the team when you may hear about those results and if you'll need to come back to the clinic or receive a letter or phone call.

If it would help to chat things through with one of our nurses, you're most welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Gillb7189 and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
