Hi Tugs,
Best of luck with your appointment in a couple of weeks to meet the surgeon and it's a good idea in the coming days to write down any questions you feel you might need to ask about the procedure just to make sure you don't forget on the day.
I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have had TEMS to remove a large rectal polyp and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you. I had a little look on the forum for you for past threads from members who went through something similar before and who mentioned the TEMS and I found this thread on being diagnosed with a rectal polyp by Kerrybuffs and you will see at the bottom of their thread an update mentioning that they were going to see at the time a surgeon specialising in TEMS. This was about 3 years ago so I am not sure whether this member will still be visiting the forum but don't hesitate to drop them a line on their thread and hopefully you will be able to connect and share experiences and if this member has in the end had the TEMS they will be able to tell you more about what to expect.
I would also suggest you give our cancer nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and they will be very happy to answer any questions you might have about the TEMs and to tell you more about what to expect from the procedure.
Best wishes and I hope that it all goes well for you if you end up having the TEMS!
