Large lump inside vagina - doctors reactions are making me worried it's cancer. I'm terrified

I found a large lump in my vagina. I was immediately sent to the hospital gynaecology. I was told I would be having biopsies, examinations and scans
the doctor examined me and imminently said I don’t want a biopsy. I want an urgent MRI to see where it is, size and spread, as it’s attached to the bone and not moving.
He then got another doctor to check and she agreed. They looked at each funny with raised eyebrow, as she confirmed.
im so scared. They were all being sorry for me, I said my gp thought it was cancer and the way they all behaved made me feel terrified. It was like they knew it was and went as near as 99.9% to confirm cancer but stopped at the C.
I left thinking I have it and walking through treacle. My mind is mulch and I’m googling everything(even though I tell others not to ever google anything health)
Does anybody had the same experience please.
Thankyou.

  • Hello Discodiva75

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some health concerns and that after seeing the specialists at the hospital, you're now waiting for additional scans and results. It's not surprising that you feel as if your mind is mulch; it must all be very overwhelming right now.

Has the team given you any idea when you will have the MRI and how long you'll have to wait for the results? Hopefully it won't be too long.

We know that many people turn to the internet looking for answers during times of uncertainty. Unfortunately, you won't find the reassurance you're seeking, and likely it will leave you feeling more anxious and upset. Please try to avoid looking online for answers while you're in this period of waiting. Instead, I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk things through with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can. As well as help you think about any questions you might want to ask at your next appointment. If you'd like to talk with them, they're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch DiscoDiva75 and let us know how you're doing; we're here for you.

    Best wishes,
