Post breast consult

Hello,

not really sure where to start, today I have attended a breast clinic with my girlfriend after she was referred from our GP after finding a lump in her breast.

today she had a mammogram, an ultrasound a biopsy and then another mammogram after the biopsy.

we then were told to wait and speak to the doctor, after speaking to the doctor we are both extremely worried and concerned. The doctor basically explained that they were concerned with what had shown up on the mammograms and ultrasound. He didn't go as far as saying she had cancer but the way he was speaking basically makes me think that they have a good idea already. He said that if the biopsy came back as clear he would be worried as it wouldn't marry up with what the scans were showing. Has anyone else experienced this?

he did say that the lump is 'very small' I believed around 1.5cm. They didn't find anything else on the scans other than this lump.

hoping others can share their experiences and whether or not their biopsies came back as clear after initial concerns from the doctors?

thanks in advance.

  • Call the helpline 0808 0800 4040. I was diagnosed after a MRI and a biopsy that was done came back indicating bone cancer. I was a low risk case (stage 1A) and chemotherapy was done. It took five months in question here for me to find out for sure. I began insisting two months in for more answers. I went to a fast access clinic and my family doctor for help. I ended up changing cancer hospitals half way because it was too far for us to travel each week for chemotherapy. You can do this. We are here for you.
