Papillary growth

Last January i had a cystoscopy and a ct urogram came back clear due to blood in urine, fast forward to February this year blood again and i have recently had a rigid cystoscopy under general anaesthetic, this was 3 weeks ago I telephoned the hospital yesterday and said results are still not back. She said a papillary growth or lesion was seen and a biopsy was taken from this a cold Cup one. I never got to see my consultant afterwards so i dont know anything. She said it was small. Reading about it a high chance of cancer.

  • Hi Doglover3636,

What a stressful time it must be for you as you are awaiting these important results. You did well to ring them after 3 weeks and I can imagine this is a very long waiting game for you. It would be good if you could get to see the consultant so that you can get some expert advice on what these results mean.

It's best to keep away from the temptation to look things up on Google too much as this tends to worry anyone unnecessarily and while you are waiting for a definite diagnosis, I would suggest you follow these helpful tips on how to cope while waiting for important news

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have had a similar experience and were told they had a papillary growth so that you can talk to others who have been your position in the past and get their support during this anxious time.

if you would like to talk to our cancer nurses about it, they have a free helpline you can call on 0808 800 4040 and their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm - but closed over the weekend and bank holiday Monday and reopening this Tuesday 5th May at 9am so don't hesitate to give them a ring on Tuesday.

I am keeping everything crossed for you that you get some clarity soon and that you will get to see a specialist. Keeping everything tightly crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.

    Best wishes,
