Results next week following surgery to remove ovaries, omentum and hemicolectomy. I'm only 34 yrs old.

Hi all

I had acute abdo pain in January, had a CT which showed nodules in my Omentum and peritoneal cavity, they suggested mets from maybe ovarian cancer. I was fast tracked to a Gynecologist who stated he did not think was cancer as my Ca125 was only 34! Fast forward to march and was called to see a gyne Oncologist. He diagnosed me with Omentum disease.. long story short, went in for surgery on 10th March just for ovaries to be removed and biopsy. I ended up being opened up,  7hr surgery and aswell as ovaries, they took my whole omentum and had a right hemicolectomy as he said the disease was stuck over my bowel too! I have just had a call to say I need to go in on Wednesday for results.. as much as I am hoping it was all benign im sort of prepared for it to be cancer! He did say after the op that I might need chemo although he was sure he had got all of the disease out but couldn't tell me 100% that it was cancer.

Has anyone else gone through anything similar.. im so anxious   x

  • Hey there Sam,

I'm awaiting surgery for ovary removal and omentum removal with HIPEC. They found cancer in my appendix during an appendectomy in December. It's the waiting that's the worst.

I'm 40 so menopause was on its way anyway but I'm still nervous about going into it so quickly after surgery. Plus obviously once they go in they might find more cancer. It's so nerve-wracking.

I hope your results all come back clear.

    Sending all the positive vibes.
