28mm solid irregular lesion in the right lower lobe with pleural tethering and a 15mm enlarged subcarnial node

Hello all,

I guess ive come on here as ive been driving myself crazy for the past 2-3weeks and so I shall start from the beginning to see if anyone has experienced similar or has any advice.

On the 8th of march out of absolutely nowhere i suddenly had the most excruciating pain in my mid back spreading all over my right upper back up to my shoulder and around to the front of my right side of my chest, it almost felt like a stitch pain x1000 and everytime I breathed in i would wince and feel a sharp pain.

I left it for 2 days as I usually don't have the time to be ill with a very busy family life and i thought it would go away but it didn't, I was in such pain on the 11th march I tried to make an appointment with my GP but they told me to go straight to A&E.

The trip to A&E resulted in blood tests and a chest xray, now my blood tests for the normal markers for infection did come back slightly out of range but The dr said nothing to worry about with the blood results and xray and diagnosed me with Costacondritis game me naproxen and sent me on my way.

The next morning still in pain I started to bring up this pink fleshy looking blood so i called my GP and after he looked at my results from the hospital the day before he prescribed me doxycycline for a week and told me to go back to hospital if I still feel unwell or in a lot of pain.

I took my antibiotics as I should but still felt no better and ended up back in hospital on the 17th march again having repeat bloods and xray. My blood test came back with improvements only my CRP and Neutrophils came back just a few points out of range and my chest xray was deemed 'okay' the dr wanted me to have a CT scan as my d-dimer went from 110 to 246 and wanted to be careful to rule out pulmonary embolism. The next morning 18th march  I had the ct scan and no blood clots were found at all.

What did show was a 28mm irregular solid lesion within the right lower lobe with pleural tethering and an enlarged 15mm subcarnial node. The Dr's advised me they had put me on the '2 week wait' suspected cancer pathway, sent me home with morphine and told to wait to hear from the consultant for the respiratory- thoracic team.

The 18th march first thing i had a call from the fast track team asking me to come a see the specialist consultant the next day (20th).

The next day i met the consultant, a macmillan nurse and a lung specialist nurse, he asked me a few basic questions but gave me no indication of it being anything other that malignant or any other infections/ problems/ causes. I asked if it was cancer and he told me he couldnt tell me that, I then asked 'as a consultant are you concerned' he replied with 'i am very very VERY concerned' i then asked if the images were concerning to him he replied 'they are incredibly concerning' i was told I needed a PET-CT scan which i now have on the 31st march. He sent me home with prolonged release oxycodone and immediate release oxycodone to take along with my morphine.

Ive been bringing up bright red blood within clear mucus every day and today a bit of greeny yellow mucus with a little blood. Im confused and concerned, I know Tuberculosis and lung cancer have similar symptoms. Before the 8th when this all started I was a healthy 34 year old woman with the only health issue being hypothyroidism.

I have had no cough or cold, no traveling and usually i am just at home or only visit family and friends locally. No one ive been in contact with has been unwell. Ive had a slight increase in temperature since the 8th between 37.2°-38.3°. The stuff im bringing up is not by coughing either i can just feel it at the bottom of my throat and just bring it up (sounds yucky sorry) I still have the pain too.

If anyone has experienced anything similar or has any advice etc I would greatly appreciate a response!
