Doctor has put an urgent breast cancer referral through after checking my lump. Can someone help me prepare for the worst so I'm not blindsided

So Im starting to worry and need honest answers. I found a breast lump about 2 weeks ago and got it checked yesterday. The doctor had a good feel and seemed concerned that it was 4cmx4cm and was hard, didnt move and was bits here and there. She said she was putting through an urgent referral and was in the mind of the worst. I have been getting pains in the boob area and under the arm pit. Bad night sweats. Can someone please help and prepare me for the worst so im not going in blindsided,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sure this is concerning and I know it's never easy when dealing with uncertainty like this and waiting for appointments.

    Although the urgent referral will be worrying, it at least means you'll get the information you need soon.

    There is some information here about what to expect at the breast clinic, in case this is helpful with preparing.

    There will be many others here who have experienced, or are experiencing, something similar, so hopefully they'll see your post and send a reply. I can see you've been chatting to others on different discussions on the forum too which is good.
