Cervical and vulva urgent referral

Hello,

I find myself on my second 2WW pathway in a year. Had a colonoscopy last year and all was fine (so for anyone worried about that, outcomes can be positive). I’m now on the cervical and vulva pathway. I’ve had ovulation bleeding after exercise for a fair few months now. My GP saw what she said may be a ‘cyst’ on examination and referred me on urgently although she said she was not too concerned. My worried head is wondering if she is concerned and didn’t want to worry me?! I have now been waiting over 2.5 weeks and not had my appt through yet and have not had any contact - ive chased them up and they are delayed- too many people to see. I’ve now had bleeding after passing a stool (first time this has happened). All smears have been clear an a recent private TVS showed possible adenmyosis but nothing else. I’m so worried though and I don’t really know what to do as i keep going back and forth between it’s nothing and it’s something to be worried about.  Does anyone have a similar experience?
thank you

  • Hi Sally82,

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing the uncertainty and worries with this. It's of course natural and understandable when waiting for appointments, and so I hope it's not long to wait before you hear more and before you get the information you need.

It's good that you've chased this up - I'm not sure if they gave you an estimate of how long to expect to wait, but do keep in touch with them about this if needed.

I don't think the doctor would have said they weren't concerned if they were, so perhaps some reassurance can be taken from that, but of course it's only with the required tests that they can know for sure.

I'm sure others here will have similar experience so hopefully they'll see your post and send a reply. From the homepage of the forum you can use the search bar at the top to find other relevant discussions and people to connect with, if you'd like to.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
