  • Welcome back to the forum, Paul1414.

It sounds like you’ve been through a huge amount over many years, and it’s completely understandable that you’re feeling overwhelmed and frustrated with ongoing health issues and long waits for appointments.

If your symptoms are getting worse or feel severe, it can help to ask your GP to flag this as urgent and, if needed, request a referral or hospital review. You might also find it useful to speak with your specialist nurses or the patient advocacy service at your hospital, as they can often help coordinate appointments and make sure your concerns are fully addressed, especially when more than one department is involved.

While waiting for appointments, keeping a simple record of your symptoms can be really helpful. Note when flares happen, what seems to trigger them, and how they affect your daily life as this can make consultations more productive and help ensure nothing important is missed.

If you would like to talk to someone trained in offering support and guidance, our nurses are available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

I know it can feel like there’s no clear path forward right now but taking things step by step and getting support from healthcare professionals and patient services can really make a difference.
