I’m glad you reached out, as it sounds like this news has come as quite a shock and has understandably caused a lot of worry.

It’s completely natural to feel uneasy while waiting for a colonoscopy. The uncertainty and anticipation can be the hardest part. Some people find it helpful to focus on taking things one step at a time and to remember that this test is there to provide clarity and reassurance about the cause of the positive FIT result.

If your thoughts begin to run ahead, gentle distractions, talking with someone you trust, or writing down any questions you may want to ask before the appointment can help you feel a little more prepared and in control.
