Bowel screening results - negative Cal test but FIT test positive. Has anyone had similar readings? Feeling very anxious

Since losing all of my immediate family to cancer (Mum Dad and Nan- im adopted so hereditary isnt a concern in this context) to say im on edge about is probably an understatement.

Cal test was negative so no immediate or obvious inflammation but fit test positive- appears to be (if i am reading the letter right) 30.4 ug/ - does anyone have any experience of a simar reading and what else it could mean?

Cant quite say how anxiety ridden I am presently so any info at all would be appreciated.

  • It means there is some blood in your stool. Not that much. The numbers can go ewll into the 100s. I think there was somebody here who got a result of something like 900 one time. It gives no indication as to what is causing the bleeding. Could be as simple as a hemmorhoid or a little cut somewhere or even a nose bleed. But they have to check to rule out things liike cancer or Crohn's or ulcerative colitis. Or even polyps which would need to be removed, just in case.
