Please don't panic about getting an 'urgent' appointment. This is the most common way to be referred to the clinic. Time scales can vary from one hospital to another, but in most cases you will receive a date for an appointment within 2 weeks from the date of referral. Most people are contacted by letter, although some people are contacted by phone, especially when a cancellation becomes available.
