A worry worry worry - found pea sized lump under my inner arm, now waiting on biopsy results

Just over two weeks ago I found a very small felt pea sized hard lump under my inner arm where it folds at the elbow best describes it

the lump was moveable under the skin, didn’t hurt just felt odd.
saw GP who said likely to be a cyst and referred me for scan

description minor significance on notes

however as we have private insurance I visited dermatologist in London

Scan done  lump removed

it is 8mm which I understand is very small .No vascularity (blood supply) ? to lump but removed for biopsy immediately I panic !!’ Why a biopsy?
the lump he said is NOT a cyst and not likely to grow back so please what is it??

my husband has prostate cancer so this is such a  worry

sleepless and scared

  • A very warm welcome to the forum Skygirl although I'm sorry about the lump you found under your inner arm and the anxious wait you now have for your biopsy results.

Although you haven't had a reply just yet, I want to reassure you that your post has been seen and you are not alone at this time as so many of our members have contended with unexplained lumps too so they will most certainly know what you're going through at the moment, and hopefully some of them will stop by soon to share their experiences and advice.

If it would help to ease some of the stress and anxiety this situation is causing, we also have a team of cancer nurses you can talk to on 0808 800 4040. They will do all they can to address your concerns and support you whilst you wait, so if you want to speak to them their helpline is open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Fingers crossed your results come through soon and that you'll finally get some much needed answers and peace of mind.

    Kind regards,
