Last year I was having issues with pain during sex and had investigations (scans etc all came back clear) it was found at my swab that I have Cervical cells growing outside but that was normal. I haven't been able to have sex due to pain so didn't realise until today it's gotten worse. 

Today I went for my cervical screening and the nurse couldn't get the speculum in, even the smaller end as it hurt so much. I have noticed over the past few months (despite being on the pill) my periods have been different, I've been having discharge that is sometimes pink/red and change in it and also having like a period ache (not like a full cramp). 

I am going to try to book an appointment tomorrow and she recommended a doctor who specialise in women's health. But I'm just wondering if anyone has had similar symptoms, what it might indicate? She said I need to be seen sooner rather than later and that it's important I don't forget my smear while having investigations and I guess I'm just panicking. She said it could be hormonal?
