I found a lump in the upper outer quadrant of my right breast while breastfeeding. I had a core needle biopsy taken of this 3 month ago. I know she went into my breast 3 times to get the sample and there was two samples taken (I assume both were sent to the lab) and this came back as a lactating adenoma. The lump has seemed larger ever since the biopsy and about 2 months later I felt some lumps under my armpit (2? Maybe - was kind of hard to tell) so I called the hospital back and they’ve reassessed me. I’ve had another biopsy taken of the original area of concern in my breast and the area under my arm. They’ve done an ultrasound and a mammogram and the consultant has said the results are concerning to them and are categorised as a BI-RADS 4. My lymph nodes are swollen.
I’m holding onto hope that this is still a benign condition. I’m only 26. Is there a possibility I could have an additional adenoma in my armpit as well as a growing one in my breast or potentially scar tissue from the first biopsy?
I’m still breastfeeding but going to stop now as they’ve told me to as surgery is definitely happening.
