Hi, I was referred on New Year’s Eve and just had my mole removed today. You will see a consultant who will look at your area of concern, they don’t tend to give you a definitive diagnosis there and then but could recommend a removal for biopsy. Depending on your hospital they may remove the lesion/mole there and then or give you an appointment to come back within a few days. Try not to panic, I was a nervous wreck waiting to go to the initial consultant dermatologist appointment but felt at ease immediately after I’d spoken to the doctor and a plan of action was in place. Just waiting for results now, my advice is stay off Google (unlike me) and try to keep things as normal as possible. Hope your appointment goes well.
