Is a mild greyish veil a melanoma?

On examination the lesion on the right mid sole was 5 mm x 5 mm and had variable pigmentation and there was a central part where mild greyish veil could be observed. There were also small granular pigmentation in the surrounding area with both furrows and ridges involved. The lesion on the left sole was around 8 mm x 3 mm and both the photos and ridges were pigmented homogeneously. A few other lesions were also noticed on the sole and these looked normal.

Had both removed and am waiting for results but feels like a lifetime!

Thank you

  • Hello Flyngrach888,

A big welcome to our forum. I can imagine this is a bit of an anxious time for you as you are waiting for your results and I hope that you won't have to wait too long to get some answers. The long wait for a diagnosis can feel like a lifetime and it's best if you can to stay well away from Google while you are waiting to find out more. I thought I would share with you our helpful tips on how to cope while waiting for important news

I also hope that you will hear from the experiences of others on here who have been in a similar place.

Keeping everything crossed for you that you get some clarity soon on what these lesions are and that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.

    Best wishes,
