cin3 colposcopy help

Hello :)

I would love some advice as it’s so difficult to get details and having to wait for letters and appointments is awful.

I had a loop procedure two years ago for my abnormal cells which they say worked but only 6 months ago at my smear I was told that they were back to severe. I then had a colposcopy biopsy where they must of biopsied the wrong area because it came back as cin1. 6 months later I went back again and had an amazing lady take my biopsies this time and she told me that the person who did that failed me and I had severe. She said the previous lady was also meant to get my results looked at by a wider team but didn’t.
my results for the recent one have just come back and they say they’re severe with possibility of invasive carcinoma. I feel so let down.

should I be worried?

has anyone been able to get rid of their HPV? Mine has been with me for a decade and I’m a healthy person who doesn’t smoke and sleeps well etc and pretty healthy!

im 33

Thankyou in advance if anyone replies

  • Hello CLC1992,

You are right that having to wait for letters and appointments is nerve-racking and especially during this festive time of year when everything seems to slow down and take a lot longer. How confusing it must have been for you too to be told you had cin1 when it was cin3 and also to find out that your results should have been looked at by a wider team. I completely understand why you are feeling let down. I am so sorry that your latest results have shown severe abnormal cells with the possibility of invasive carcinoma. I hope that you get to speak to someone soon about what it all means and what the next steps might be.

There is information on our website on abnormal cervical cells which I hope you will find reassuring and it might also be worth reading our information on HPV and don't hesitate to get in touch with our nurses if you would like to talk things through with them. Their helpline is currently closed for the Christmas break but it will reopen on the 29th December so don't hesitate to give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 from 9am to 5pm if you want to talk things through with them.

Many members of our community have been in a similar position before and have had to deal with abnormal cervical cells and HPV and I hope that they will come and share their experience with you. I hope that you get some clarity soon on your latest results and on what the treatment plan might be.

    Best wishes,
