Spotting after no period 10 years - have an urgent appointment today for scan and hysteroscopy. I'm terrified it's cancer

Experienced minor spotting for 2 days went to doctors and they did examination and could see a trickle blood coming from womb so referred me urgent appointment. I’m going this morning for scan and hysteroscopy. Terrified it’s cancer. I’m 54 and apart from a minor twinge on my left lower abdomen (which I would probably not have even noticed if I hadn’t had spotting) no other symptoms. Just hoping if it is I’ve caught it early

    I just wanted to check in on you as you mentioned you were having a scan and hysteroscopy the other day.

    I hope everything went well and the medical staff were able to put your mind at ease about your symptoms, but if you'd like to discuss any of this further with one of our cancer nurses, you can do so next week on 0808 800 4040 between 9a.m - 5p.m. The helpline will be open again from Monday 29th December.

    Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will offer their support and advice to you soon, but in the meantime we're thinking of you Clairejac and will have our fingers crossed everything will be o.k.
