ADJUVANT RADIOTHERAPY

I have had recent surgery fir SSC on top lip under nose and a neck dissection where lymph nodes were removed. All surgery was successful.

I have now been offered radiotherapy in order to prevent recurrence.

I am relu tant to go ahead with this. Is there anybody here who has went through a similar situation ?

Ive had numerous SCCs. Also had parotid gland removed radical neck dissection lymphs removed. Also opted for 20 sessions radiotherapy to neck and jaw to prevent recurrence. It takes a lot of resolve to get through this brutal treatment. However it gave me 10 good years partial remission until it has returned now incurable. Do not underestimate SCC and take everything offered to keep it at bay. You may also be offered cemiplimab immunotherapy if so take up the offer.It is currently giving me an extra year or so of life.
