Possible lymphoma diagnosis 2 masses

What started out as a routine heart scan turned into another scan because they noticed a mass on my right hilum it's further shown another mass on my lungs so two masses in total with swollen clavicle lymph nodes and swollen neck lymph nodes I'm due to have a biopsy in January I'm really really scared as it's only under sedation to confirm lymphoma.

I'm only 38 with four kids and a partner who's lost his mum dad and twin brother in the last five years

I'm shocked scared angry and just feeling really sad. Is this normal. The procedure sounds quite scary and due to my heart problems I'm scared I'm going to die.

  • Hello Patch19

I'm sorry to hear that a recent scan has found some masses which now need a biopsy. It's perfectly understandable that you're feeling shocked, angry and scared about the procedure and what the results may mean for you.

It sounds like it's been an incredibly difficult time for your family with bereavements and your ongoing heart problems. I hope that you're able to support each other and that you have friends around who can offer some support as well.

We know that for many people this period of waiting for tests, results and information can be really difficult. It can often help to talk with someone about how you're feeling. If you'd like to talk with one of our nurses for some advice and support, you're most welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully the biopsy in January will bring some answers and the specialists will be able to give you some reassurance about the next steps.

Keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
