Hello everyone! I've been reading posts on here alot recently, as I dread and wait for my scan. I don't know why I'm posting, I think I want to hear if anyone has had the same as me and whether it was good news or not.
Around 4-5 months ago, I turned and the pain in my neck was horrendous. I spent the day on the sofa unable to move. It took a few weeks to fully stop hurting. Nothing helped the pain and when rubbing my neck I found a lump under my right jaw line, under the ear area.
I went to the Dr and as expected, she said come back in 3 weeks if it hasn't gone (I knew I would have to wait, that's okay). I then returned, saw a different Dr and she said wait 3-4 months we don't worry for one lump - "it's probably an overactive lymphnode".
I went back last week, the Dr was lovely and really took her time. She was concerned it was an aneurysm on my artery! She referred me for a scan and she said it would probably be around 1 month wait. I then got a letter saying the appointment was for a 2 week urgent suspected head and neck cancer referral. I'm now going next Wednesday and I was so positive up until I got a date and time and now I'm starting to worry.
A few months ago I was told I have a folic acid deficiency, I was put on tablets for 3 months and had no follow up. The lump in my neck is around 2cm and it was movable but it's not more stuck where it is. I have a red patch in the back of my mouth that isn't going (right side) and I get little lumps, I think they might be ulcers as there a bit sore. I've also been losing weight quite quickly. I have been trying, however I have been trying for years and now it's falling off. I don't exercise, just eat less. I've been having a lot of people say they can see how much I've lost and usually I'd be over the moon but right now I hate it as you can imagine.
Has anyone had anything similar? Id definitely be interested to hear both good and bad.
Thanks
