Urology appointment next week.

Hi guys. Im a woman 44 years old. So my story starts with on the 17th September 2025 I was told I have blood and protien in my urine and was treated for a uti. A week later I was still getting burning when I urinated so I went back and was retested which came back totally clear no blood no nothing. Since then like 10 weeks later I am still suffering stinging urine, my only symptom. I recently had a urine test last week again no blood no nothing. They have had me on pessaries for vaginal atrophy for 7 weeks thinking it is that but I still have no relief so I have been referred... Absolutely terrified they will find something sinister...

  • Hi Ajx

I just wanted to wish you the best of luck for your appointment next week! It's good that they are being thorough even though it is a really stressful time for you. Being referred means that you will definitely get answers and a diagnosis and treatment to relieve these symptoms.

It's completely normal in your situation to be worried about the worst possible outcome but it's worth bearing in mind that there are so many other conditions that could explain your symptoms. I know it's really hard but try not to google anything if you can avoid it as this will only make you feel more confused and never provides accurate answers. It won't be long now until you find out more but in the meantime I wanted to share with you our helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our forum who have been in a similar place before and that they will pop by and share their experiences with you.

I am keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.

    Best wishes,

  • Thankyou. Really appreciate your response! That's all I have been doing goggling things. Lol. I will try not to so much now. Hopefully after Wednesday my mind will be at rest and I can just get on with whatever it is and hopefully treatment to relieve the discomfort. Thanks again !
