Nodule in upper abdomen found 2 years after cervical cancer

I was diagnosed and treated for cervical cancer 2 years ago and scans had all been clear, ,but I've just had the results from my 2 year Ct Scan, and they've found what they said was a nodule in the upper abdomen.

I'm currently waiting for a date for a biopsy, which thry said should be within 2 weeks, but I'm so scared. I've only been waiting a day and it's already feeling like an eternity.

  • I'm so sorry for the stress and worry this is causing Lou67.

I hope this guide we have on how to cope with waiting for news will help to steady your nerves at this time, but hopefully some of our members who have found themselves in a similar position will stop by soon to offer their support and advice.

If it would help, you can talk things through with one of our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to address your concerns and ease your mind whilst you wait.

We're sending you all our support Lou67 and hope a date for your biopsy comes through soon. We'll be thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed the nodule is no cause for concern.

  • Thank you for your reply. It is the unknown that I'm struggling with. I'm finding the wait even more difficult this time round.

I just want to get the biopsy done and find out exactly what it is so I can deal with it. I'm keeping busy but my mind keeps drifting and just can't concentrate. The only time I stop thinking about it is when I'm out walking with my dog

I've had the results of Mt biospy and it is Peritoneal cancer secondary to the cervical cancer I had.

I'm going to be starting 6 cycles of chemo, and will be every 3 weeks. I'm absolutely petrified of what lies ahead, as they've said its likely after the 4 months I'm going to need more to keep it "contained" They said they'd hope I'd be able to have at least a 6month break, but it all depends.

I'm going back on Thursday to get more details such as exact dates for chemotherapy to start.

If there's anyone else that has gone through anything like this I'd be so grateful to hear from you

  • I'm sorry the results of your biopsy have shown you now have peritoneal cancer Lou.

I think it's only natural to feel scared about what's to come, but it's good to hear a treatment plan has been put in place and hopefully your chemo will get underway soon.

I hope some of our members will reach out to you soon, but our cancer nurses are also available on the number I gave you in my previous post if you want to discuss any of this further.

We're sending you all our support Lou and wishing you all the best with your treatment.
