New appointment made for me tomorrow at the respiratory department. Freaking out about what they've found. Is it likely to be bad news?

A new appointment has been made for me tomorrow at the respiratory department at my local hospital after chest Xray showed up nodules on my lungs with accompanying chest pain. I was put on the 2 week pathway and had a contrast CT scan on Wednesday last week. I’m now freeking out about what they have found and what they might say, why would they want to see me in person? Is it likely to be bad news?

  • Hey Flo52-19,

I just wanted to welcome you to the forum and check in on as you mentioned that you had your appointment at the respiratory department the other day.

I'm sorry no-one was able to get back to you before you went but I really do hope the news you received wasn't what you feared. If you were given bad news then just remember that we are here for you and we'll do all we can to support you on this journey.

Hopefully some of our members will stop by soon to offer their support and advice but if it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
