Hey all,
currently waiting for investigations for lymphoma. Found a pea sized lump in neck first week of October, I’ve always had enlarged nodes/glands in neck so didn’t think much of it even though this new one was a lot smaller/different. Around a week later I got intense itching all over my body. It felt like the itch would just jump around every time I scratched it. It was so exhausting and it kept me up through the night. After 2 weeks of this I finally visited the doctor as my uncle died of NHL over 20 years ago, and itching was a main symptom for him.
GP referred me on 29th Oct on 2ww but my first appointment with the ENT is not until 20th November (upcoming Thursday).
My other symptoms are lack of appetite but I do force myself to eat, no significant weight loss. Slightly sweaty at night even though fan is on all night, but not drenching sweats. I do feel quite fatigued although I did put this down to busy lifestyle. But I can also sleep 12 hours and still wake up exhausted. More recently my body has felt exhausted through the day and I have frequently been lightheaded when standing and had to sit straight back down.
Over the last week the itching has felt less severe, as in it’s not as constant and mainly at night or when I’m having a bath/shower, but still not as bad as in the beginning. I wandered if anyone else experienced a reduction in the itching before diagnosis?
On Thursday just gone I woke up with blocked sinuses, aches and a slight fever. I spent all yesterday (Friday) in bed with on/off fever and cold symptoms. Today I feel a lot better but have a dry cough. My usual enlarged ‘glands’ have been more swollen the last couple days and I’m concerned that when I see the ENT Dr on Thursday they will put my symptoms down to this current cold if I’m still showing symptoms by then! Even though the original pea sized node has not changed throughout this illness! Hopefully they will still do extra tests!
Anyway I was just wandering if any one has experienced the same/similar and would like to chat about it :)
S x
