Polyp and cervical growth

I had a colposcopy after a pap smear found a polyp on my cervix. They removed the polyp and a growth from my cervix via LEEP. I have fibromyalgia so as expected all pain and symptoms last a bit longer. My question is should I be getting drained and lower back pain 5 days later? I get what reminds me of ovulation pain all day, lower back pain and my legs feel weak and shaky most of the day. I didn't bleed much, which I assume is because the doctor managed to cauterize the area well, just "coffee grounds" on the day.

  • Hi Madds and a warm welcome to our forum,

I am not sure whether you should be getting this lower back pain 5 days after your colposcopy and if the shaky and weak legs are related. I think it would be worth getting in touch with your medical team who performed the colposcopy and asking whether this is to be expected or if it is not linked to the colposcopy in which case it might be a good idea to get in touch with your GP just to run things past them and to try and understand what is causing these issues.

I hope you manage to speak to someone soon about this and that you get answers soon. Other members of our community may have experienced something similar before and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
