2ww for a hard lump in groin and suspected sarcoma

Hi all, 35F here.

I am slightly bricking it! My thigh has been swollen for a while, but I assumed it was just weight gain. Then I noticed a hard lump in my pelvis - it's not quite a lump / round but there is definitely something hard there right near my swollen thigh!

Saw GP who referred me on the 2ww pathway. Blood test Wednesday and seeing an orthopedic consultant later this month.

I could just use some words of wisdom from others in a similar position! I can't stop thinking about it.

  • It needs to be checked out and your GP is doing the right thing sending you.  Most sarcoma referrals are however non-cancerous so try to hang on to that.  It is hard not to worry in this situation and you may be referred for more tests to rule out or confirm a diagnosis.  My experience is the tests seem to take forever and you can’t help but worry.  I do hope very much that yours is not sarcoma.  Stay strong.
