Had hysteroscopy and biopsy

Dr found a polyp near cervix. Removed it and then took a biopsy which was very painful. Any advice would be appreciated if anyone has any on polyps and painful biopsy as I had one done last year and it was nothing compared to this time. Worried about results.

  • Hello CH76

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some health concerns, which resulted in a hysteroscopy for biopsy and polyp removal. I hope that you're feeling less uncomfortable since having had the procedure.

We know from the many posts that we see here in the Cancer Chat community that lots of women find a biopsy to be painful. It's understandable that you're feeling worried about why this experience was so much different to your previous one. It might help to try and keep in mind that no two experiences are the same, even for the same person. Hopefully the results will be back soon and the specialists will be able to give you some reassurance.

If it would help to chat things through with one of our nurses, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

Do let us know how you get on CH76. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
