Cervical Erosions

I had CIN  3 20 years ago where I had loop therapy, it was terrifying time for me and not a very pleasant experience that I wish to do again. ,back then they stated my problems were in my womb and when I had smears I had to have one and one further up into the womb.

HOWEVER

I have been bleeding for two weeks brown and then red, and so forth pain in back and fatigue, I also had large mass i would say about 3 cm in width, of what I could call fibres jelly like tissue (, I went doctors yesterday I suppose I wanted them to tell me it was menopause and that i had nothing to worry about) , the DR was lovely who examined me but pointed out i have prolapse, but my cervix has erosions on it, upon examining myself I can feel it, to say I'm scared is a under statement. They have used the cancer pathway to fast track me. I have three children and I'm trying to remain positive that what it is has been caught early. any advise or what to expect again.

  • Welcome to the forum, Lady-wife.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been having these symptoms and can understand why you’re feeling so concerned, especially after your experience with CIN3 and the treatment all those years ago. It sounds like this has brought back some difficult memories, and waiting to find out more can make everything feel even harder.

It’s reassuring, though, that your doctor was kind and has arranged for you to be seen quickly. Hopefully, others here who can relate to how you’re feeling right now will be along soon to chat and offer some support.

In the meantime, try to take things one step at a time while you wait for your appointment. You’ve absolutely done the right thing by getting checked and following it up straight away.

If the worrying becomes too much and you’d like to talk things through with someone who has a medical background, you can always ring our nurses on 0808 800 4040. They’re available Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Once you know more, please do come back and let us know how you’re getting on - we’ll be thinking of you.

    All the best,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator
