Post menopause bleeding - concern or am I wasting my doctors time?

I’m 52 and had my left ovary removed about 10 years ago alongside cysts and endometriosis removed before then in 2008 when I had an ectopic pregnancy

I went straight into menopause after the ovary surgery and haven’t had a period since so 10 years ago

I’ve been on hrt for about 7 months now.

8 weeks ago I started to feel unwell and fainted a few times and a month ago fainted, smashed my head open and when I finally attended hospital id started to bleed from my vagina like a brown pink sore period. The medics at the hospital didn’t take this seriously at all and simply put on my notes that I had blood in my urine and was likely a uti. One nurse asked if I’m on my period and when I told her I’d not bled in 10 years she patted my shoulder and said oooh it’s a miracle!!!!!!!

The bleeding stopped after 3 weeks
I finally had enough and went to my gp to explain I’m still bleeding, in pain, faint/lightheaded, lost weight and genuinely feel awful.
I had an urgent ultrasound as she suspected cancer which only saw when I read my notes. . Typically I’d stopped bleeding at the time of the US as I waited so long so no blood was detected
I’ve now been referred to gynaecologist's after the results came in from the US.  and today started bleeding again

I’m pretty nervous but also so sick of constantly needing medical attention and feel like a drain on my doctor. I cry whenever I leave as I feel such a drain on services.
my pain today is awful, going down my thighs and in my womb and pelvic area.
I do suffer with health anxiety. Does anyone else feel they’re just wasting gp’s time?

  • This is the first post I have read on this forum but please please get yourself to the doctor. I also considered myself to be something of a hypochondriac but when I had just one drop of brown blood I went straight to the GP.

They have found clear cell cancer of the uterus and I have to wait for my prognosis but everything's been done in two weeks. Tomorrow I will have my MRI and CT scans and next week we will start talking about treatment.

You are a valuable person and you are not wasting the doctors time please please go x
