Two lumps in groin, exhausted and sore leg bones

Hello,

Two years ago I found a lump on my groin. It was rubbery and caused me no pain at all. However I had lost a lot of weight and I was always tired. I phoned GP and had blood tests- all clear. So I just assumed it was a cyst.

A few months ago, I phoned docs because I had a red patch, that looked like a sore on my leg. I was having frequent headaches and feeling tired. They booked me in for a blood test and again- all clear.

flash forward to today, I am always tired.. like so exhausted. Most days I will fall asleep during the day. I have now discovered another lump (so I have two large lumps). Same side of the groin, it’s just lower. My legs ache, mainly when I’m lying in bed.. Trying to get another appointment. I’m going to be clear that I don’t just want another blood test, I need these lumps checked.

any advice or similar stories would be great.

If you have any advice on what I can say to GP that will ensure that I get my two lumps looked at and not just another blood test.

  • Hi Ladybug95,

You did well to phone the GP when you noticed a lump on your groin 2 years ago and it must have been reassuring to be given the all clear after you had the blood test. You also did the right thing in getting in touch with them again when you discovered this red patch and were having frequent headaches and it's good news that the blood tests didn't flag anything suspicious. The exhaustion you are experiencing at the moment definitely needs to be checked as well as those large lumps and I completely agree that you should ask to have more than just a blood test, that you need these lumps examined closely and properly.  When you see the GP, make sure you mention all your current symptoms but also your past history with lumps appearing on your groin and you could share with them everything that happened in recent years and the blood tests that didn't show anything of concern. You could be honest with your GP and say that you are a bit worried as these issues keep happening to you and that you need some answers. You could also consider getting a second opinion.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have similar stories to share and that they will be along shortly to give you some advice or suggestions based on their personal experiences.

    Best wishes,
