Possible Melanoma - what to expect at first dermatology appointment?

Hi! Just looking for some insights. 

Was referred on 2 week pathway for possible melanoma. Have appointment on 22nd October (the waiting is hard!) and just wondering what to expect at the appointment? Will they just look or possibly do biopsy same day?

The letter doesn't really say anything other than the date and time so don't feel very prepared!

    Hiya, I am not sure if all hospitals work the same. But I have been diagnosed with melanoma twice now ( luckily it was only in situ both time). I attended the appointment and the dr looked at the mole under their microscope. They will either decide there and then to book you in for an excision, or potentially send you for some photos and monitor it. I have had both experiences but on neither occasion were they taken off there and then.
