Appointment received within 24hrs of scan?

I wondered if anyone else has been in the same position or similar to me?

I got referred for a standard check up has previously has hpv but have had hpv injection, I went to my appointment on 3rd September received an appointment for a scan for the 2nd of October I went and while I was there he said my left ovary is normal and then my right he spent around 16 minutes scanning I have been suffering a lot of pain during inter course on that side, while he was scanning the pain was there I’ve been having. He asked if my previous scans had picked anything up which I said pcos and he said you don’t have pcos but continued the right ovary investigation.

I left and the next day so 3rd of October I received an urgent appointment for Wednesday 8th.

I wondered if anyone else has had anything like this and come out positive? I’m scared I lost my mom at 51 she also had breast cancer before 40 and died of lung cancer.

the c word really does worry me.

I turn 30 this month.

  • Hello HannahA

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some health concerns which needed investigating and following your ultrasound, you're now due to see the specialist tomorrow. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious.

Hopefully when you see the team tomorrow, they will be able to give you some reassurance. It can sometimes help to write down any questions you might have before going into the appointment.

Keep in touch HannahA and let us know how you get on at the appointment. I'll be thinking of you.

    Best wishes,

  • Does it say who the appointment is with?

it might say on the letter which team you are going to be seeing.

  • Just says we have made an appointment for you see one of the Gynaecology team, doesn’t say what it’s for etc, I called and they said it’s my ultrasound results. I guess I’m just a little worried has previously I was told I had pcos and he was certain in the scan I didn’t have that.
